I am Anne. I am a retired nurse from Bristol in southwest England I have been married to Bill for over 40 years. We have five grown-up children, two grandchildren and two cats.
If you are a film director casting a film about a boy wizard at a magical school, you need to imagine the cinema on opening night. This would determine the type of music you chose, the language used in the script, the length of scenes and even the marketing campaign. I think if you are starting a blog, it is as important to provide an opportunity to meet the author.
I called my main website where I talk more generally about retirement issues theplatinumline.blog as platinum is a metal associated with the number 70. If you have been married for seventy years you celebrate your seventieth wedding anniversary.
In 2022 Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her platinum jubilee after 70 years on the throne. I was born a few weeks after her father died and I celebrated my seventieth birthday this year.
Many years ago I worked in a metallurgical laboratory and used platinum electrodes. I realised that platinum is an important catalyst. It is a dull soft grey metal but nonetheless more valuable than gold or silver.
This Website is called the southwest rambler and I hope to be able to share some of my favourite walks with you. I belong to a local history walking group and in normal times we spend our weekends exploring the southwest of England and South Wales. I was very glad to rekindle my love of history which I studied in Bangor at the University of North Wales fifty years ago and I also love learning more about the flora and fauna of the area.
